LITTER PICKING – Saturday 25th May
We successfully cleared the Quarry area and the lane from there as far as Dunley Road. Since the major initiative carried out by Malvern Hills CEPO department and a local farmer, this was not such a task as on previous occasions.
Our next Litter Pick is on Saturday 29th June at 11am and the target area is the road from Abberley to Pensax.
We have received some attention during these sessions, and some comments:-
NEGATIVE COMMENTS POSITIVE RESPONSE
- “You are wasting your time.”
“We are getting fresh air, exercise, making people smile, helping to make the countryside more beautiful and enjoying ourselves. How can this be a waste of time?”” - “You are fighting a losing battle.”
“It is not a battle, we do not fight, but, each time we “attack “ an area, there is less litter, so who knows?” - “It is not your job. The Council should do it.”
“It is no-one’s “job” to clear up after others, not even the Council, but we think the ‘Adopt a Street’ initiative is an excellent idea to get as many involved as possible.” - And lastly- we are not doing “Community Service”!
(Well we are but because we want to, not because we have to)
So, let’s keep it positive and thank you to all the positive comments and “Well dones” etc we have received.
